Kathie Leung is by all definitions a storyteller. Her writing is a reflection of her eclectic soul, bouncing from grotesque horror to poignant snippets of everyday life, from whimsical bits to informative pieces. Her world would lack color and life if she couldn't write.
Several of her short stories and poetry have been published in the Phi Beta Theta Kappa Butte College 2007 Literary Magazine "Branches of Inspiration." Numerous short stories, many which won awards, were published within an online community featured on America OnLine. Other short bits are found on her blog.
Kathie is the mother of the Pie Dudes, her gregarious twin adolescent boys, Z-dude and Ry-guy, who have a penchant for watching her frequently dance on her toes. Not willing to stand in the wings, she's married to a city firefighter who, like her, is a voracious reader and a witty ying to her yang. They all live in the Sierra-Nevada foothills in northern California along with their Bengal, appropriately named Nemesis, and Swedish Lapphund, Chewbacca.
In January 2008, Kathie founded the Chico Writer's Group which continues to grow and meets on a regular basis. Since November 2003 she's participated in the National Novel Writing Month challenge where writers are challenged to write 50K words in 30-days. Dubbed as "See Kath NoMo" by her husband, Kathie has successfully met the challenge numerous times and always looks forward to the month of seclusion her family teasingly begrudgingly affords her.
She is currently working on a suspense thriller and is drafting a mainstream literary trilogy.
